Probably the most common activity in Wadi Rum and the best way to see the most sites in a short period. Meet with ouur Bedouin driver and then head out in to the desert . Who is able to show you the sights better than a local! Jeeps can take up to 6 people and the price varies depending on the length of the tour. On the tour you will visit amazing natural and archaeological features, such as the natural rock bridges of Umm Fruth or Burdha Arch ,
rock inscriptions and carvings in Khazali canyon, Lawrence’s spring and Lawrence’s ‘house’. At each spot in your itinerary, you will have time to stop, get out, take pictures, hike, climb, explore, and even enjoy a cup of delicious Bedouin tea at one of the many Bedouin tents found in the desert. However, you can ask the driver to stop anytime and anywhere you want- this is your trip, and you can go at your own pace.
A great opportunity for nature lovers – exploring the desert by foot is the perfect way to take in all the sights sounds and often over looked flora and fauna of this magnificent ecosystem. The Bedouin will take you on some of the old routes and goat roads used by the traditional nomadic families in search of grazing areas for their livestock and trading between tribes. The route taken will depend on the groups level of fitness and experience, from a gentle mountain walk to steep mountain scrambling and climbing through canyons.
There are many different possibilities how to explore the desert by foot. We offer hikes of 3 or 4 hours or less, through the narrower valleys and canyons and we usually combine these hikes with jeep rides. This is very popular, since this way our guests get to see many sights by jeep as well as getting to enjoy a walk through the beautiful landscape. You can also combine a daily hiking trip with a one day long jeep tour and/or one day on a camel. See the Mountain Adventures packages bellow and book it now .
